THE BEST WAY TO HELP THE REAL OFFENDER
Every wondered how you can help those
impacted by drought and bushfire? The simple
answer is by planning your next trip to those
areas that have been impacted. Sorry Chris Gibson, the Prado is not the greatest
offender (GoRV #32). It is the ignorant (meant
in the kindest possible way) driver who does
not do the research, who does not visit the
weigh bridge, and who ignores the available
information who is the greatest offender.
As the owner of Tenterfield Lodge and Caravan
Park, NSW, we have seen the impact firsthand
and it’s not only farmers that are hurting.
Accommodation venues such as ours, and
shops, petrol stations, restaurants and many
other businesses are feeling the results on
their bottom line.
We are not looking for a handout but, rather,
a hand up, and the best handout anyone can
provide is come and stay and play in our town.
My understanding is that for some earlier Prado
models there is an approved upgrade and the
MY18 is released with a 500kg upgrade. That
makes it 3100kg and 3000kg respectively.
But, hey, spend 30 per cent less and buy an
Isuzu MU-X and get your 3000kg out of the box.

Of course, we are not the only town/area and
so why not consider a road trip through the
various impacted areas/regions?
While we are not out of the woods just yet, we
are on the mend. We at Tenterfield are open for
business. No more fires, and water is available.
Like all country towns we offer you a warm
welcome and have plenty for you to see and
do. Perhaps you just might join us at the firepit
for a yarn and a cold bevy.
