THE FRONT BOOT POWER UP Briggs & Stratton has released its most powerful inverter generator yet… and it even comes with Bluetooth.  The new Q6500 QuietPower Series Inverter Generator has a steel frame and is said to be 60 per cent quieter than ‘standard’ generators, dramatically reducing disturbance to nearby campers. The Q6500 features a highly-efficient integrated engine/alternator to provide up to 14 hours of run time and 6500 starting watts of back-up power (5000W running power). The generator’s Bluetooth functionality involves an app that monitors total power being used, run time (hours until empty), total unit hours and maintenance reminders. It is, however, quite heavy, with a weight of 58kg that would have to be considered as part of your van/vehicle’s payload capacity. The lithium ion-based Power Pack has a blue LED display, allowing the user to easily identify the remaining battery capacity. This removes the need to have the fridge plugged into a permanent power source, or to carry around a cumbersome, heavy battery.
