RV FEATURE As it entered its seventh year of production in 2019, Nova’s dedicated offroad rig, the Terra Sportz, came in for a range of updates. Among the changes: new white Nova Pro-Al sandwich panel aluminium sides and a matt gunmetal grey front and rear. Along with its waist of protective checkerplate, substantial ride height and eye-catching decals, the 2019 Terra Sportz strikes a purposeful pose on the road. When we reviewed the van, it came as standard with Al-Ko’s 3.5-tonne-rated offroad pin coupling; however, Nova now fits the venerable DO35. It still rides on Al-Ko Enduro Outback offroad suspension and the underside remains well- protected. The Terra Sportz is by no means the lightest offroader in the free-camp, but it comes with a long equipment list, a decent payload capacity, a very attractive and functional interior – though Nova no longer uses the soft-close mechanism on the Terra Sportz’s internal doors – and adequate fresh water storage. WHAT WE SAID With a solid 12V system, a grey water tank, a thoughtful interior and many of those new- for-2019 features, this Terra Sportz should be a faithful companion on offroad adventures. HITS check • Decent 12V and water storage capacities • Wide drawers in the kitchen and bathroom • With one small exception (see ‘misses’), the van is very well finished MISSES times • The silastic used to seal a hole under the kitchen sink is a little unsightly, especially considering the otherwise high standard of fit and finish • The town water inlet isn’t fitted with a stoneguard ORIGINAL REVIEW TERRA FIRMER! / 15
