RV FEATURE
Clearviews are made in Australia, with final
assembly occurring at the company’s Melbourne
headquarters. They are vehicle-specific, too
– these are not one-size-fits-all products. For
example, my MU-X had indicators fitted to the
factory mirrors. As such, by law the Clearview
replacements are required to have them too
– and they do. Naturally, they’re legal in all
Australian states and territories, meeting all ADR
requirements.
POWERFOLD INSTALLATION
Because my MU-X came with electric folding
mirrors, it was simply a matter of carefully
removing the door trims, unscrewing the existing
mirrors, and replacing them with the Powerfolds,
and then plugging them into the existing wiring
loom. Easy. As mentioned, vehicles without
electrically-folding mirrors can have them too,
but they’ll need to be wired up.
The Powerfolds also have the smarts to return to
the same position each time they’re folded open
again. They are available for most popular makes
and models of 4WD.
The bottom line: Clearview mirrors are an essential
safety accessory – and the Powerfold function
adds that little extra convenience. I really don’t
know why I waited to long to try them.
