RV FEATURE KEEP IT CLEAN Keeping your tanks clean is paramount in ensuring you have drinkable water. Ensuring your RV manufacturer uses food-grade water tanks is a good place to start. Using food-grade hoses to fill up your tanks is also essential. Never use standard garden hoses. If you do find that the water in your tanks tastes awful, there are a number of remedies you can try. Flushing them with a bottle of cordial is a popular method to remove unpleasant tastes. In more extreme cases, flushing with vinegar works well. There are also specialist RV water-tank cleaning chemicals available from RV accessories outlets. tap at least as often as recommended by the manufacturer. Finally, don’t rely completely on your RV’s water tanks. If they are damaged, you may lose your entire water supply and you might not notice it until it’s too late. It’s essential to keep at least one 20L jerry can full of drinking water in your rig as an emergency water source.
