Last year, the Caravanning Industry Association of Australia reported record growth in the sector, with Australians taking more than 12 million caravan and camping trips, contributing many billions of dollars to the Australian economy. Those figures are staggering and represent a potential bonanza for Australia's caravan parks and the industries that support them. However, if you talk to many park operators, you’ll find this isn’t the case for all of them. Many are struggling with the costs to upgrade their parks to meet the demands of patrons in the face of rising competition from showgrounds and free camps.
