INTERSTATE REGO
I saw your article concerning registering your van
interstate (GoRV #19). While what you have said
is correct, there is a rider in New South Wales
which, if my memory serves me correctly, says
that if you cannot demonstrate that the van is
stored interstate, then the law will consider it to
be unregistered.
It would be worth checking the legislation and
highlighting in a future issue. If I am correct, there
are some very serious repercussions from an
insurance perspective in the case of an accident.
Also, a fine that I think is around $600 applies.

WE LOVE CHEAP CAMPS
Thanks for the article on the cheap campsites
around Australia (GoRV #19). We love the camps
around Inskip Point and Rainbow Beach, Qld, with
views of Fraser Island. The views are more than
worth the price of the site and we try to get back
there as often as possible.
We won’t be visiting Western Australia any time
soon (Sandy Cape will have to wait), but we
are heading to New South Wales soon and will
hopefully camp at Pillaga Bore – we can’t wait!

FOR THE LOVE OF VISCOUNT
I read your review of the new Viscount caravan with
interest (GoRV #19). I owned a Viscount back in
the 1970s and 80s and we had many happy family
holidays with it.
I enjoyed the article and I think it’s great that
Viscount is now back on the road. But it seems like
a missed opportunity to bring back some of those
classic Viscount layouts, perhaps with a modern
twist, or a touch of retro to the outside styling.
Having said that, I’ll be taking a closer look at the
new Viscount range at the earliest opportunity.
Who knows, in 30 years, the new ‘modern’
Viscount might be looked at as fondly as we look
back on the Viscounts of yesteryear now.
