our personal security, and that of our property, for granted
when we are on the road. Everyone in holiday parks or other
campsites is on holidays, and who would steal something

Not so fast. Who says thieves don’t take holidays? And
where is it written that they can’t enter a campsite or
holiday park, expecting a smorgasbord of easy targets? VIDEOGRAPHER/EDITOR
As you’ll read in this issue, the gut-wrenching reality of
theft came crashing in on a couple of travellers in Western
Australia. They weren’t staying in some lonesome free-
camp, either. The break-in occurred at a holiday park, in
the early hours, while they slept. If it can happen to them,
it can happen to any of us. PRODUCTION COORDINATOR
That’s why we must take our security seriously, and why
we must also be aware of what our insurance policies
cover. Are the contents of your camper trailer, caravan,
motorhome or fifth wheeler covered, or just the RV itself?
Is the value of your coverage adequate? As one who has
had a camper trailer stolen, I write from bitter experience.
