RADIO Rules WORDS: BRUCE AND MARG GOW, BABY BOOMERS ON THE ROAD WHICH CHANNELS TO USE AND WHEN. Things have changed for the better as far as UHF radio is concerned. I remember when Citizens’ Band (CB) radio was introduced to Australia from the US and the units were the size of a shoebox. Today’s units are much smaller, making installation much easier. Our current unit is a GME TX3300 with the display in the hand piece and we are very happy with the ease of operation, the size of the unit and broadcast range. We have never had a problem with it. Some people do have problems, such as lack of reception beyond line of sight, static problems, and engine interference. Luckily, none of these has been an issue for us. 20 gorv.com.au
