The dove playground situated in front of
Block 10 is one of the iconic playgrounds
designed by interior designer Mr Khor
Ean Ghee. Joining HDB in 1969, Mr
Khor was tasked to design playgrounds
that had something to do with identity
and turn what they saw at the time into
playgrounds.
“It was us adults trying to think like
children, about what we would want to
do if we were kids. When we designed
the rides, we were thinking of our own
children playing with them. Although
many of the playgrounds have been
demolished, I’m happy that they have
played such pivotal roles in people’s
