Paul Cézanne was born on 19 January 1839 in Aix-en-Provence.He died on 22 October 1906, and, after his death, his study in Aix became a monument. Cézanne's works were rejected numerous times by the official Salon in Paris and ridiculed by art critics when exhibited with the Impressionists'. Yet during his lifetime Cézanne was considered a master by younger artists who visited his studio in Aix.

This painting has got a tablecloth with many apples and oranges in bowls and a pitcher decorated with flowers. It also has got an armchair behind the table. This picture of cezanne is in the museum of Orsay.
