In the Science and Technology Area various activities with a high degree of motivation have been developed for different levels.  Making compost This is a work we have carried out with our students of 2 nd ESO mainly Erasmus+ students. The subject reference is physics and chemistry like an “extra” activity in order to get better marks. We have included this activity in Erasmus+ project because the final result is a compost that we will use as fertilizer for the orange trees planted in the school last year regarding the Erasmus+ project. The Objective was to make compost only with green waste (also including oranges skin used in the school canteen) in order to avoid bad smells. We have used an old garbage bin like a composter for environmental reasons (reusing things) and also for saving money. This is a long term activity that started in January of 2.018 and it will finish next year because composting is a very slow process. The procedure is the following, every week the students keep the green waste from their homes and every Tuesday, at break time, they deposit their waste in our composter, we move the compost when it is necessary. Finally, we wait until it is done.
