MAY IS NATIONAL MILITARY APPRECIATION MONTH! National Military Appreciation Month is celebrated every May, and is a declaration that encourages U.S. citizens to observe the month in a symbol of unity, to honor the current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces, including those who have died in the pur- suit of freedom. Loyalty Day - Sunday, May 1st: Kicks off our Nation’s month-long celebration of military appreciation. It is a day set aside for the reaffirmation of loyalty to the United States and to reflect on the proud heritage of our American freedom. Military Spouse Appreciation Day - Friday, May 12th: A day to honor military spouses with appropriate ceremonies and activities. Recognizes the important role our military fam- ilies play in keeping our Armed Forces strong, and our country safe. Armed Forces Day - Saturday, May 20th: A single holiday for citizens to come together and thank our military members for their patriotic service in support of our country. This day honors everyone serving in the U.S. Military branches - Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, and Navy. Memorial Day - Monday, May 29th: A remembrance of our veterans. Commemorates the men and women who died while in military service. Veteran of the Month: Myron Kyle Originally from Milton, PA, Myron Kyle graduated from Milton High School in 1982, and then immediate- ly joined the United States Marine Corps. From July 1982 until June 1986, Mr. Kyle served primarily at Camp Lejune in North Carolina. Throughout the four years, he trained in 29 Palms, California, Pickell Meadows, California, Fort Pickett, Virginia, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and Camp Blanding, Florida. Amongst train- ing, he also spent time at Engineer School, Courthouse Bay, Camp Lejune, N.C. He spent time doing exercis- es at places like Italy, Egypt, Sardinia, and Puerto Rico. During his time in the Marine Corp, he received some notable awards and recognitions, including: Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with a star. Myron now lives in Howard, PA with his wife Sheryl. He also has two daughters, Kaitlin Forstmeir and Morgan Kyle. He is involved with Team RWB, VFW Post 1665 in Milton, and Beirut Veterans of America. His hobbies include Yoseikon Aikido, which he is a black belt in, and has been studying for 12 years. The p
