The weather was perfect for the 18th commencement ceremony that graduated 290 Central Mountain High School seniors at Malinak Stadium on Friday, June 9th. This year's theme was “Once a Wildcat, Always a Wildcat.” Principal Steve Turchetta told the senior class to "take the lessons they learned in four years at Central Mountain as they embark on a new beginning.” The ceremony was full of student speakers reminiscing about their school experiences. Farewell addresses were given by valedictorian Julianna Carpenetti and salutatorian McCartney Register. Carpenetti repeated the theme, “Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat,” and Register wished her classmates “the best experiences life has to offer.” Class President, Brody Baker, an avid country music fan, included lyrics from the Florida Georgia Line song, "Dig Your Roots," stating “You gotta dig your roots, show some love back to your hometown.” He told his classmates to "never lose sight of where they came from - Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat.” Congratulations to the entire Central Mountain Class of 2017!
