That is the basis of where my com- plaint comes from - my nasty old neighbor, and how my husband takes his abuse. My husband is way too nice to way too many people - including our grumpy old neighbor who has nothing nice to say about anyone! I used to take things personally when he would make his rude comments to my husband regarding how our yard looked, but not now. I've talked to many people and haven't met a single soul who likes the guy, so I try to just ignore him and live my life, without any interference from him. But, my husband continually lets this jerk tell him how awful he is and how terri- ble our yard looks, and how he should do things dif- ferently. He just nods and smiles. I just wish he'd tell him where to go (just once) or quit talking to him altogether. He's just a grumpy old man with nothing better to do than complain and he's never going to be the nice neighbor we both wish we had. - Anonymous, Lock Haven Dear Battle of the Sexes: My wife is the shyest woman I know. She is 40 years old and hates talking to anyone. She doesn't even like going to family outings, sporting events, or school events. I knew this about her when we got married. I thought that she would ease up a bit once our son was born, but that never happened. I just want a happy medium for my wife - I want her to be sociable enough to enjoy going places every now and then, but not too sociable that it changes her completely! Because, after all, I love her for being her! - Mr. S, Williamsport Send your responses to these letters, or mail in your own gripes to: “Good News” P.O.
