SCHOOL NEWS JERSEY SHORE FBLA 66TH ANNUAL STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE RESULTS Jersey Shore FBLA had an amazing year at States! This year, Jersey Shore FBLA had a record breaking 69 students qualify and attend the State Confer- ence, receiving 22 awards. The 22 students placed in the top 10 of the state, and 11 students qualified for the National Leadership Conference, to be held in Anaheim, California. Jersey Shore FBLA is proud to announce that Max Ferguson campaigned, and was elected to the PA FBLA State Officer position of Vice President at Large, and his term of office continues throughout the '17-'18 school year. Congratulations to the following National Qualifiers: • Beatrice Ferguson – 1st in Electronic Career Portfolio • Ezekiel Miller – 1st in Networking Concepts • Team of Jacob Butzler and Lance Welsh – 2nd in Graphic Design • Team of Bailey Powell, Connor Shade, and Zach Young – 2nd in Network Design • Annalise Eiswerth – 3rd in Public Speaking I • Team of Pearl Patterson and Ella Simcox – 4th in Publication Design • Local Chapter Annual Business Report – 1st in the State. Gabrielle Moore and Kendra White worked on this project. The report can be submitted to Nationals for competition, but it does not qualify Gabbie and Kendra to attend the NLC, because it was a chapter event, and not an individual event. We are very pleased to announce our top 10 award winners: • Jersey Shore FBLA Chapter – 3rd in Outstanding Chapter Criteria • Max Ferguson – 5th in Public Speaking 1 • Hannah Stemler – 5th in Networking Concepts • Beatrice Ferguson – 5th in Who’s Who in PA FBLA * PA FBLA presents the Who’s Who in PA FBLA awards and Wil- liam Selden Scholarships to the top 15 members in the state based on up to four years of involvement with Pennsylvania FBLA. Beatrice also receives a $500 scholarship with this award. • Jersey Shore FBLA Chapter – 7th Largest Contribution to the National Kidney Foundation with $1,973 • Team of Dean Lundy and Tony Ramos – 8th in Computer Game and Programming • Team of Luke Bischof and Averie Hess – 8th in Publication Design • Connor Anderson – 8th in Networking Concepts • Jaydyn Doebler-Miller – 9th in Accounting I • Team of Gage Mann and Ashley Nichols – 9th in Community Service Project In addition, the entire Jersey Shore FBLA Chapter placed 3rd in the William Selden Outstanding Chapter Criteria, which is an honor that demonstrates tremendous planning, hard work, and commitment to the ideals of FBLA. This is especially impressive when you consider there are 293 local FBLA chapters with 13,601 members across the state. There are also open competitive events open for students’ participation.
