Can We Join Your Family? Z ymir Children Waiting For A Home... Zymir, 17, is intelligent, friendly, and outgoing. Inquisitive, he is curious about how things, such as politics and elections, work, and he asks many questions. Zymir loves football, and is proud that his school team came in second in the Pennsylvania State Championships last year. He will be entering 12th grade in the fall, and hopes to attend college. If Zymir had three wishes, they would be to be rich, to play in the NFL, and to travel back in time. Zymir wants to be adopted, and is open to many different kinds of family, hopefully one that lives in an area where he could attend a school with a good football program. He would benefit from a family with a strong male role model. The ideal family for him will encourage his dream of attending college, and help him build a strong academic base now. Mealani is an adorable 5 year old whose winning personality and expressive eyes charm everyone she meets. Passionate about toys and cartoons, Mealani loves playing with her dolls and stuffed animals. One of her favorite pastimes is to play dress up with her dolls, particularly Elsa in Frozen. Mealani also is intrigued with arts and crafts, and delights in ac- tivities such as painting bird houses and working with beads. Although shy when meeting new people, she soon warms up and is happy to have you help her dress her dolls. Diag- nosed with respiratory disease, Mealani requires a feeding and breathing tube. However, she is making great progress in breathing on her own, and her caregivers are hopeful that she will eventually no longer need the breathing tube. M ealani Inquisitive, active, and athletic are some of the many words to describe Elijah. Although the 15 year old has a variety of interests, his passion is sports. Football is his favorite, and he hopes to play the game professionally some day. He also enjoys participating in baseball and basketball. Elijah is most proud of being on a Youth Advisory Board and speaking to a group of adults about how to better serve their community. Enrolled in the ninth grade, Elijah is doing well. History is his favorite subject. After high school, he plans on attending college. If he cannot have a career in sports, then he would like to be a history teacher. Elijah longs for a family to call his own, one that will give him the attention he craves. E lijah There are 104,000 children nationwide waiting to be adopted. These are not the healthy infants usually associated with adoption. They are older; some have physical, emotional or mental challenges. Others are brothers and sisters who need to be placed together. More than half of the children are from minority cultures. They all need the love and security that only a permanent family can provide. These are the children for whom the National Adoption Center works. For more info, contact Anna Coleman at the National Adoption Center. Email: acoleman@adopt.org or call 267-443-1867.
