SHUBHANKAR SHARMA BECOMES FIRST INDIAN TO PLAY ALL FOUR MAJORS IN SAME YEAR AS MAJOR DEBUT Anirban Lahiri set an Indian record with his 15th Major appearance as he overhauled Jeev Milkha Singh’s tally of 14 Major appearances Lahiri set an Indian record with his fi fth appearance at the PGA Championship as he went past Jeev Milkha Singh’s tally of 4 appearances at the tournament Shubhankar Sharma became the youngest Indian to play the PGA Championship at the age of 22, he 74 GolfPlus broke Lahiri’s record who had made his debut at the tournament in 2014 at age 27 Sharma became the fourth Indian to play all four Majors after Jeev Milkha SEPTEMBER 2018 Sharma is now only the third Indian to have played all four Majors in the same year (2018) following in the footsteps of Jeev Milkha Singh (2007) and Anirban Lahiri (2015 and 2016) Sharma is now the fi rst ever Indian to have played all four Majors in the same year as his Major debut (2018) Sharma became the fi fth Indian to play the PGA Championship after Arjun Atwal, Jeev Milkha Singh, Jyoti Randhawa and Anirban Lahiri It was the ninth time that two Indians appeared at the same Major championship and third occasion when two Indians appeared at the PGA Championship - Jeev Milkha Singh and Jyoti Randhawa had both appeared at the 2007 and 2008 editions of the PGA Championship.
