Kurt Kitayama is a Californian professional golfer . He turned pro in 2015 . His current tours are Asian Tours .
GP : Fitness is really important . What is your fitness regime ? KK : When I come back home I try to work out a lot and put load on my body . I usually work on my �exibility . GH : I spend 6-8 hours a week in the gym and also take a massage . My �tness regime has undergone a sea change over the last 10 years and that is re�ected in the drastic change in my body . MD : Yes �tness is very important . Every day I go to the gym from 5:30 to 7:30 in the morning . During tournaments I follow a particular diet and do stretching .
GP : What ’ s the strongest part of your game ? KK : Driving GH : Driving MD : Putting
GP : Which one event would you say has been the game changer in your career ? KK : At the ISPS HANDA New Zealand Open 2018 I �nished tied fourth which earned me a berth at the Hero Indian Open . So I think the ISPS HANDA New Zealand Open 2018 has been the game changer for me . GH : Two Tournaments – Scotland Open Championship 2007 and US OPEN 2010 MD : Tata Open 2013
GP : What is your setup routine before each shot ?

KK : I practice a few swings , then I step behind , look at the ball and the hole and hit the shot . GH : I have a 40-50 seconds routine which includes a few practice swings , visualization , measuring the distance and then hitting the shot . MD : Before each shot I take deep breaths 2-3 times to release all the pressure .
GP : What are your goals for the season ? KK : I ’ ll try to keep my card on the Asian Tour . GH : Just to win most of the tournaments . MD : I was ranked 5th last year . So in 2018 , I want to be on No . 1
GP : If it wasn ’ t golf , what sport would you have liked to play at a competitive level ? KK : Basketball GH : Football or Rugby MD : Cricket
GP : How do you take a break from Golf ? KK : I like to play video games or take trips around . GH : I have three kids and a wife so I try to take care of everything . My wife is a working woman so I try to support her in every way possible and try helping her always whenever I ’ m home . MD : Usually I don ’ t take a break . But when I do , I like to go to the temple once a week .
