Women’s Golf Day

With the objective to engage, empower and support women golfers,
Women’s Golf Day was ¿ rst celebrated in 2016. To take this initiative
forward and in its endeavour to promote the game, Classic Golf &
Country Club planned the day this year as a celebration of this spirit.

World Women’s Golf Day is a global golf
initiative launched in 2016 to introduce
women of all ages to the game and
encourage existing female golfers to
“Tee it up” in a fun and a highly inclusive
environment. This has created an
incredible global community in two years
and has the support of all major gol¿ ng
governing bodies and organisations. On
this day all ladies play golf on the same
day and the same time slots in different
corners of the world. Noida Golf Course
ladies section joined this community in
the year 2017. This year a fun tournament
was organised and a good number of
ladies braved the heat and the blazing
sun to take part in the momentous event.
The 9-hole tournament tee off time was
3:30 – 4:30. Ladies from other nearby
clubs (Air Force Golf Club and Army
Golf Course) were also invited to join
in. The tournament concluded with a
prize distribution ceremony and high tea
where the ladies bonded because of their
love for the game. The winner was Vibha
Singh (36) and runner-up was Raman
Ahuja.

The event was a runaway success with members and non-members
alike, who À ocked to the course for a round of golf, connected over
refreshments and enjoyed the scent of the blooming À owers at the in-
house nursery.
