22 - 30 in the National Capital Region. The
golf event at the Asian Games is scheduled
to be held from August 21 - 25. The future
of Junior Golf in India looks bright. If the
young talented golfers continue with the
momentum, the day is not far when Indian
golf would become a force to reckon with.
India’s track record at the Asian Games golf
event is fairly good. In 1982 when golf was
introduced at the Asian Games, Lakshman
Singh and Rajiv Mohta won gold and silver
in the individual event and the Indian team
won gold in the team event. Then in 2002,
Shiv Kapur won the individual gold. In
2006, the Indian team comprising of Anirban
Lahiri, Gaganjeet Bhullar, Chiragh Kumar
Kshitij Naveed Kaul
and Joseph Chakola, won team silver and
later in 2010 the team comprising of Rashid
Khan, Rahul Bajaj, Abhinav Lohan and
Abhijit Singh Chadha, repeated the feat.
