Regnum, you find five separate pools,
including a wave pool, always a hot favorite
with kids. You can eat your fill at the amply-
stocked 24-hour buffet restaurant. Or
feast at any of the Asian, Italian, Seafood,
Japanese or Turkish specialty restaurants,
where food is cooked with greater attention
to detail. Antalya’s signature preparations
may be Piyaz, Sis Kofte and Tandir Kebap.
But the lamb chops the affable Maitre’d at
the Ottoman insisted I try just melted in my
mouth. The sauted onions, various types of
raw tomatoes and salad mix it came with
were simply delicious. Especially when eaten
with our very favourite, freshly baked, Turkish
lavash bread. And Harinakshi, a vegetarian,
thoroughly enjoyed the wide assortment

as the Japanese Teppanyaki, which I love. Or

a Spa treatment (Kitty, from faraway Chiang
Mai, gave me a fabulous hour-long Deep
Tissue massage, but this set me back a hefty
120 Euros!). While the very decent Angora
wine (Cabernet and Merlot) or Yakut Red
(made from Bogazkere, Alicante, Criganan
and Okuzgozu grapes), both from Turkey’s

The Maxx Royal nearby was equally
large and impressive. One of the earliest
5-star resorts built in the Belek area,
