SPORTS CARNIVAL
AT SIRI FORT
IRI Fort organized the first of its kind 5 day long carnival in the
history of SIRI Fort Sports Complex, supporting Honourable
Prime Minister Narendra ModiÊs Fit India Movement. The
Carnival covered 8 sports and golf was one of them. A 9
holes Chip and Putt Mini Course showed its significance in
the game of golf. The 2 days golf tournament saw a total of
179 players participating in the Carnival. The inaugural tee off was done
by none other than General Bipin Rawat, the Army Chief of Staff. Smt.
Meenakshi Lekhi, Member of Parliament, New Delhi also participated in the
game of golf by trying her hands during the Tee off.
Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Member of Parliament, New Delhi
expressed her pleasure at the success of the event, “Seeing
people of every age bracket, irrespective of working day or
the cold being present at the event so early in the morning
for the last 5 days and showing their support for the cause
overwhelms me. I am glad that India is becoming conscious
and concerned about fitness and health.”
