RELAUNCHED

„As a true sportsperson I have always been keen to
learn new games. I started learning golf few years back
being a member at the SIRI Fort Sports Complex since
the last 11 years and it has become second game for me
after badminton. The game has since then fascinated me
and has motivated me to promote and grow the game
through our Olive Oil brand. Casa de Santo Amaro is one
of the most premium brand in Olive oil from Portugal
and in India it is liked and consumed by well travelled
people and the golfing fraternity. This exceptional most
awarded extra virgin olive oil since 1687 can be named
as farm olive oil, since from olive production, extraction,
packaging and commercialization of the final product,
everything is done on the farm, and in this way we can
include them inside the Farm-To-Table concept.‰

PORT GOLF TOURNAMENT
13th Green after redevelopment
ne of the legacy courses in India reopened with fanfare in November after a
complete redesign and extensive renovation, offering members an idyllic playing
experience. Members played the ‘Inaugural’ event to celebrate the launch of the
newly revamped course. The club, which has produced several champions in the
past, was also keen to enhance its ecosystem and reaf¿ rm the ethos of being the nursery
for champions who have done India proud. The redesign re-establishes its position as
one of the ¿ nest members and a championship course, in Asia.
Gary Player Design, was given the mantle of creating a design which delivered on
the objectives and yet respected the history of this iconic course.
A bold decision was taken by the President Maj RS Bedi and the Captain of DGC,
Rohit Sabherwal, to complete the project in one go and within one calendar year. A core
team comprising of stalwarts, Ashok Malik, Manjit Singh, Gen KMS Shergill, Kulbir
Singh and Col KKK Singh was put together to oversee the project and they worked
around the clock to deliver. An experienced project execution team was then identi¿ ed
and put into place to execute the project.

donations from members who preferred to remain anonymous covered the entire cost
of the development of the course for the bene¿ t of Indian Golf.
xford Golf Resort hosted the most prestigious
Krishnapatanam Port Golf Tournament 2019 at
its award winning golf course on 16th Nov 2019.
The tournament took place with the presence of Bharat
Bhushan tennis ace sensation Leander Paes. Over 10
international pros came together - Ridhima Dilawari,
Sharmila Nicolet, Tvesa Malik, Nikolic Gabrijela,
Ashley Ramsey, to name a few who participated in the
tournament. Oxford Group Chairman Mr. Anil Seolekar
attended the event to congratulate MD of Krishnapatnam
Port, Mr. C Sasidhar for hosting the tournament into its
5th year celebration. The tournament concluded with a
spectacular live band performance by Raghav Sachar that
left the guests in awe and a brief speech from Leander
Paes.
