Golf jaunt saw crème-de-

and sport come together
with Sadhguru, Founder,
Isha Foundation, to educate
rural India through Isha
Vidhya, an educational
outreach initiative started by Sadhguru 12
years ago in Tamil Nadu. The half-day golf
event raised enough donations to educate
1500 underprivileged students for a year
through full scholarship. The event was held
at Oxford Golf Resort in Pune.
Speaking about Isha Golf Jaunt,
Sadhguru said „We are a nation of enormous
population. In a way, the only wealth that we
have is people, but the people of this nation
will become a wealth only if we make them
competent, focused, skillful and inspired. If
we leave them uneducated, uninspired and

incompetent, then we will be the greatest
disaster. So, whether we are going to be
a great disaster or a great miracle simply
depends on whether we educate our rural
population or not. That is the effort at Isha
Vidhya and weÊre very grateful to all the
golfers whoÊre here and also all the sponsors
and others who are contributing to make
Isha Vidhya Golf Jaunt happen.‰ Among 80
participants were also actor Rakul Preet Singh
and cricketer Ajit Agarkar. Rakul interacted
with students of Isha Vidhya via a video
conference congratulating them on excelling
in education, sports and wishing them the
best. Speaking at the event, Rakul said „I
thank Isha Vidhya for bringing a change
through golfing. ItÊs nice how Isha brings
about transformation through sports and itÊs
fantastic how itÊs helping take education to
rural India.‰ Over the years, Rakul, a national
level golf player, has lent her voice in support
