he 5th Amateur Ladies Golf Championship was played in the
Noida Golf Course on 14th-15th November, 2018. The event
was a two day Gross event, and in addition, the fi rst day had
a Stableford round as well. Around 90 ladies from across India
participated in this tournament. Ladies from various clubs like Delhi
Golf Club, Army Golf Course, Chandigarh Golf Club, Royal Calcutta

Golf Club, Qutab Golf Course, DLF Golf Course, Jaypee Greens Golf
Course and Air Force Golf Course, among others, bonded over the
common love for the game. The weather too was perfect and it added to
the spirit of bonhomie and fun all around. Among the participants was
Anika Verma, currently India’s No. 1 Amateur Lady Golfer and was
predictably declared the champion of the tournament.

he 9th DGC Open held on the 21st to 23rd November was a
true celebration of Women’s Golf in India. The ladies fl ocked
eagerly in from all over the country to enjoy, both of the historic
and challenging courses at the Delhi Golf Club. Over 100 women
participated in the gold / silver & bronze category on both the Lodhi
& Peacock Course.
The ceremonial tee off was done on Wednesday 21st November by
Mrs. Asha Sahgal the oldest participant age 82. The event was marked
by an atmosphere of camaraderie & friendship. The lovely winter

mornings the beautiful ambiance and warm hospitality made it a truly
memorable event. The generous sponsors Nescafe & Amul provided
free coffee & off course drinks & eats.
While Skin Alive & Blossom Kochhar ensured that the ladies
were pampered post their rounds by massages & facials. Defending
Champion Diksha Dagar played brilliant golf to once again retain the
title in her farewell game to amateur golf. Tanvi Khanna a member
of DGC, who was winner of the Silver medal at the Asian Games for
squash was also felicitated at the PD.
