Brijesh bags title in a Playoff

rijesh Kumar won the event in a playoff
with Rajesh. Both had scored a total of
5 over for two days. During the Playoff
Rajesh mishit his shot on the 18th green for
a 60 foot putt and ended doing three puts
for a bogey to settle for the second position
whereas Brijesh’s maintained his composure
and produced a spectacular shot to 2 feet from
the hole and birdied the playoff hole to win
the tournament. Both Brijesh and Rajesh are
caddies at the panchkula golf club and dream
to make golf careers as a player in the Indian
professional circuit. Bagging the 3rd Spot
was Bishmad Pal Seera who made a strong
comeback on the second day shooting level
par after being tied for the 17th position on
the fi rst day.
As many as 54 Amateurs participated in
the 7th event of IGU North Zone Amateur
Feeder Tour that was held at the prestigious
Panchkula Golf Club. Players from all over
the north region including Chandigarh and
Delhi participated in this event. IGU North
Zone Amateur Feeder is a great platform for
the budding Amateurs who want to play in
the Main Circuit and the Top 6 players in
the merit list will qualify for the IGU Main
Tour 2019.

Feeder Tour is having its share of ups
and downs. While 52-year-old Farbod
Dowlatshahi won the 5th edition of the North
Zone Amateur Feeder, 38-year-old Vice
President of IMG Reliance Bikram Singh
shot a thundering three-under to capture
the sixth event of the tour at Classic Golf
and Country Clib. With six-over on the fi rst
day, Bikram Singh stood tied for the eighth
spot in the tournament. On the second day,
he attacked the holes right from the word go
with fi ve birdies on the front-nine and two

birdies on the back-nine but dropped four
bogeys to fi nish with a spectacular round of
three-under. Three players were tied for the
second but Kritein Gandotra went on to bag
the second spot on the basis of a better score
on the second day and Daksh Shokeen bagged
the third spot on the basis of a better score on
the last three holes.
Arjun Babuta from Chandigarh Golf Club
shot a hole-in-one on the 17th from 180
yards. “My putting wasn’t that good today
so I thought I should put the ball in the hole
directly”, joked Arjun as he received his

memento for the hole-in-one.
“I’ve had second place fi nishes 14 Times
in Junior/Sub-Junior tournaments when I
was young. This was a round I was dying
for and it happened. So don’t give up guys,
never give up. We are a bunch of oldies but
we can still play some serious golf”, beamed
Bikram in his victory speech. Over 50 players
participated in the 6th Event of the North
Zone IGU Amateur Feeder Tour that was held
at Classic Golf and Country Club. The top six
amateurs in the ranking list will qualify for
the IGU Main Amateur Tour 2019.
