GP: When did you start playing junior golf tournaments?
SS: I started learning golf in 2008 at the age of three at
the Royal Calcutta Golf Club. I then moved to Hyderabad
Golf Club in 2010 and started playing IGU South Zone junior
tournaments thereafter.
GP: Which event boosted your confidence in golf?
SS: In 2013 I played a round of 4-under in Category E JWGC
Mysore, IGU South Zone Junior which really gave me the
confidence of scoring and taught me to believe in myself.
GP: Who is your golfing buddy?
SS: I generally play alone but when I practice I play with my
dad and Coach Sanjay Kumar Singh. He is Class A certified
IGU Coach.
GP: How do you juggle your time between studies &
golf?
SS: I am a student of Delhi Public School, Hyderabad, which
promotes all kind of sports a lot. I am very thankful to all my
teachers and friends who give me notes when I am absent.

So I’m able to manage my time between studies and golf.
GP: Do you want to make it your career or you play golf
just for fun?
SS: I definitely want to make it my career. My goal is to play
for my country and be in the Indian National Golf Squad for the
Olympics someday.
GP: How do you take a break from Golf?
SS: I love to visit my village in Ayodhya (UP) whenever I get a
break from school and tournaments.
