This calculative demeanour has helped me focus better, concentrate longer and be patient while cracking business deals. CVR LINKS was formally inaugurated by Sri Venkaiah Naidu Hon’ble Union Minister for Urban Development and Information and broadcasting on 24 July 2016. Krishnapatnam Port is a pioneer in setting benchmarks, creating records and being class apart in the world of maritime business. Krishnapatnam Port is unique and different from others. Apart from employing modern-day technology and customer-friendly approaches, the management of the port ensures a longstanding well-founded relation with its customers and clientele. One of the unparalleled feats of Krishnapatnam Port was the culmination of India’s ﬁ rst links golf course. This course is planned and executed by the very renowned architect, David Hemstock, who is also famous for creating the Amby Valley Golf Course in Mumbai. Krishnapatnam port golf course, named as CVR Links, is an integrated links golf course and marina. The construction of this course is inspired by the home of golf, St. Andrews. CVR Links will be an 18-hole golf course, with a teeing ground that is set off by markers, showing the bounds of the legal tee area, fairway, rough and other hazards, and the putting green surrounded by the fringe with the pin (normally a ﬂ agstick) and cup. The course is made of pure sand and is USGA certiﬁ ed material. The golf course is also linked with the ocean, making it the ﬁ rst of its kind in the country. The main objective of this endeavour of the port was the furthering of friendly associations with the customers of the port. The invention of this golf course was to showcase that Krishnapatnam is not only an industrial hub, but also a platform for a benign gathering of people from different walks of life, coalesce with one another to promote business relationships and create strong bonds of commitment with countries and companies across the globe. It will also give an opportunity to expand the number of investors for the economic development of the region alongside creating social infrastructure platform of international standards, making Krishnapatnam Port the true gateway to India. Q. What are the various Golf initiatives this year? The Golden Eagles Golf Championship is an annual event organized solely by Krishnapatnam Port and has been a great hit from the very year of its launch. Last year we hosted the third edition of the tournament and like every year, it was staged across dream venues of – Prestige Golfshire Club – Bengaluru followed by Oxford Golf Resort and Country Club – Pune and Hyderabad Golf Association- in Hyderabad. The ﬁ nale was held at Jaypee Greens, Noida in Delhi. Besides the esteemed top clients, customers and business associates of Krishnapatnam, the tournament attracts some of the most popular names across Bollywood, Tollywood, Cricket and other industries. While the legendary Kapil Dev has been the face of the tournament from the ﬁ rst season, it has also housed names like R Madhavan, Mandira Bedi, Rakul Preet Singh among many others. Every year we look forward to extending the championship to different cities since a lot of our customers are golf enthusiasts and this is a perfect platform to showcase their talent. The idea behind holding this Golf tournament is to promote golf as an exceptional sport experience.
