SINGH HAILS HIS MEN AFTER TOUGH LOSS Captain Jeev Milkha Singh hailed his lionhearted men after Team Europe won the EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM on Sunday and believes Asia needs to put a team system in place to avenge their loss in two years’ time. “I am proud of my team. I believe in these players. These players worked really hard. They gave it 100 per cent out there. They gave each other advice, and also my vice captain, Liang Wen-Chong, put in a lot of effort,” said Singh, a former two-time Asian Tour number one. Anirban Lahiri Jeunghun Wang ensured his match with Ross Fisher would finish in a tie. Clarke, who will also captain Europe's Ryder Cup team in September, was delighted with his team’s emphatic victory. They won the fourball and foursomes sessions 4 ½ to 1 ½ on both days before winning nine singles matches and halving one out of the 12 on the final day. "The team have played fantastic this week. There have been a lot of positives. I've learnt a few things, and hopefully I'll do a better job come September,” said Clarke. "But if the players don't play and don't perform, you can be the best captain in the world and you're not going to win. This belongs to the players; the quality of the golf this week has been brilliant.” “We learned from this. It was a good experience, and when we come back after two years, we are going to be a stronger team and we are going to do well. They (players) made me feel so good and such an honour they have given me. I think this will stay with me for the rest of my life. These boys have a lot of game and they are going to do well. I think they are going to prove themselves on the world stage,” he added.
