A tall, slender man with salt and pepper hair greeted me at the door. “Nice to meet you, Rachel. I’ve heard a lot about you.” He shook my hand and looked concerned. “Nice to meet you, too. I know you're worried about your daughter, and I have so much to tell you and not much time, so I’ll get straight to the point here.” He led me into a large living room, elegantly decorated with white sofas and burgundy, overstuffed chairs. A fire crackled in the large, slate, floor-to-ceiling fireplace. He sat down next to me on the larger sofa. “May I offer you a drink or a cup of tea?” “I think tea would be a good choice. I have to get up early tomorrow, it being the first day of school, and all.” “Yes, and Audrina will be with you,” he said with a gleam in his eyes.
