Without thinking, Traci trailed her hand across a low, long dresser in
the main bedroom and left a line in the layer of dust. “Great. Look what
you did.”
She used the hem of her shirt to wipe the surface clean. “Hopefully
it doesn’t take long for dust to reaccumulate.”
Clothes hung in the closet; shoes lined up neatly along the floor. She
slapped at the material and then sneezed when a cloud of dust tickled
her nose. “No one has been here in a really long time.”
Two photos sat in frames on the night stand. One was an older
couple from what looked like World War II times, then another photo
at a 50th Anniversary party. Tears flooded her eyes as she stared at the
loving gaze between the couple in both pictures. She knew without
knowing them that it was the same two people in both.
