How did you get started in music?

I" used to always sing at home for my family. One day I was at my cousin's friend's house and her mom was into acting and music as well and she overheard me singing so she suggested I take vocal lessons from this coach she knew (he coached Shania Twain back in the day.) From then on singing and performing became my passion. "

What does the title ‘Room For 2” mean and how does this song reflect you as an artist?

The title 'Room For 2' is very meaningful to me because when I wrote it with Th3ory when I was going through some things, making it a very personal song to me. It basically means that there's only room for two people in a relationship so all the outsiders shouldn't matter or try to interfere with what you and your significant have. If they try to, don't let it get to you because at the end of the day, the person is with you for a reason and if they fall into it — that means they're not the right one for you. This song definitely shows how I've grown not only vocally and as an artist but also as a woman. I’m more confident as I've grown older and have experienced some things that shaped me into who I am today.

Will your upcoming project sound like this single? Or will it have different sounds?

It's hard to say without giving too much away but for the most part my project definitely sounds more grown up and edgier. There are different sounds and infusions for sure as I've always loved different styles and genres of music. That definitely shines through in my music.

What inspired ‘Room For 2?

'Room For 2' was inspired by a personal experience I had not too long ago. At the time this track was written, I felt that girls were trying to get at my man. Of course this made me feel a certain way, but the song also talks about how I know that no one can come in between our relationship and that "there's only room for two.” So at the same time, it's kind of an empowering message to women to know your place in your relationship.

Who are your biggest influences?

Growing up I always listened to Aaliyah, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Jojo and Brandy. All of those artists definitely influenced my music.

How many songs have you actually recorded and not released yet?

I've recorded a lot of songs the past year that I haven't released yet and may never release but I'm finally putting out a new project full of new music soon!

How do you, as a public figure, deal with doubt?

It gets hard sometimes but like any other person I try to remain positive and look at my blessings and what I can and can't do in any situation that can make it better.

What can we expect from you this year?

Lots of new music, videos, etc!
