What’s your go too beauty product's?
Clean healthy skin. I get a facial every six weeks. People are often surprised to learn that I don’t use a fancy one, I use clean and clear exfoliating face wash and cetaphil. For removing makeup so I use Shisiedo’s makeup remover, and I sleep with humidifier. For concealers and under eye I use benefits lemonade. Eyebrows are everything, Anastasia’s brow wiz pencil and Charlotte Tilburry’s contour and highlight pack! Nars bronzer as well!
What is your opinion on magazine’s photo shopping women's pictures to make them 'Perfect"?
When you’re on the cover a magazine everyone expects to see a certain thing on a magazine. I’m not against a little touch up or a Photoshop but to retouch so much to the point where the person looks unrealistic and unlike themselves I don’t agree. The consumer also isn’t that dumb and can always tell! Being “perfect” isn’t necessary. What makes people interesting are the things that make them different! The photo should always have the essence of the person!
What is your advice to young girls who look up you and wonder how to become so successful?
Be yourself! Growing up and even now I felt I was a little different from everyone else but for some reason I don’t know if it’s from my mom or my dad, but they taught me to be proud of who I am and what I do. There’s no shame in who you are even if it’s different from other people. For me the whole “hipster” thing was so cool, but that wasn’t for me! I always embraced who I was, and eventually being myself became my brand and my business. Be confident in yourself and who you are! Work hard and try to focus and figure out what you want to do and go for it!
