How was it growing up in Queens?

I love Queens! It’s great, close to everything; public transportation available at any time to take you anywhere. All my memories are there, my grandparent’s house, my school, my dance studio. It’s home.

What is a major difference in living in LA now vs NYC?

The vibe is definitely a lot chiller out here in LA. The pace is slower and much calmer than the hustle of the city. And of course, none of my family is out here, which is the biggest difference.

What drew you into acting at such a young age?

I grew up a dancer; back then acting was never a life long passion of mine. I always loved performing, so my mom and I decided to give acting a shot, to see if I liked it. After a few months, my class had a showcase and the next day several people from the industry called. Nine months after signing with my manager, I got the pilot for Game Shakers.

How did you get onto 'Game Shakers'?

I sent in a self-tape for a new Dan Schneider project. I try and follow a rule of, “send it and forget it” because it could drive you crazy thinking about the call back. So, I think it was a couple of months before I heard that I was to fly to LA for a screen test. I think I flew back and forth about 4 times before I found out I landed the role of Babe.

"We need to start spreading the message that a person who takes care of their body, loves it and respects it, is a body that is beautiful and that body will come in many different sizes."

Are you different or the same as your character and why?

A little of both, we both have a sassy NY vibe but I’m not as tough as Babe. Or as boy crazy…

How is it to work with a Nick favorite such as Kel?

Kel is such a Nickelodeon legend; he’s an amazing guy. We call him Uncle Kel on set. I’ve learned so much from him, he’s so hilarious and his improve is great. I can barely make it through scenes with him without laughing.

What about the dance world made you want to add it to your resume?

I was dancing since I could walk. My mom grew up dancing and signed me and my sister up when we were around 4. She wanted us to have a second family and a safe place to go to. I’ve done it my whole life; it was put on my resume for me.

As a dancer, what is your daily routine to keep your body fit?

I don’t have a daily routine. I really should though.

How does one start if they want to get into the dance world?

You can start at your local studio with basic classes at first. Most studios will have recreational classes as well as a competition team. There are also many studios with open classes like Millennium in LA or BDC [Broadway Dance Center] in NYC.

Where do you want to take your dancing career as you grow?

I’ll definitely do it forever; it’s my first love as a performer. I wish I could dance more these days. As far as a career, I guess in this industry it’s something good to have in your back pocket.
