What drew you to the 'Ice Cream Truck' script?

I loved how the script combined humor and horror because I think that can be really hard to do. My role, Brie, is small, but important and my main scene is really scary, but I think it also successfully finds some funny moments. It’s really cool to see that combination.

Would you do more horror movies or comedy?

I really don’t have a preference. I love watching both and would honestly love the opportunity to do any onscreen work regardless of the genre. I don’t really have a favorite genre of film because it’s all very important and entertaining to me.

Do you plan on doing more family animations?

I would love to do more family animations. They’re just a lot of fun and have really great messages attached to them. My experiences with the Despicable Me franchise have been incredible.

How do you manage to do full time school and all of this?

Since I was really young I’ve had to manage a lot of things. When I was younger, I participated in sports, community theater, was a student and managed guitar lessons every week…all the while still auditioning. I think that at this point I’m just used to having a lot on my plate, and I think it makes me more productive because I don’t have the time to sit and re-watch Friends for the billionth time (which I would gladly do). I love being busy.

Why is education still important even while in the industry?

Not only is it important to learn about the world and have knowledge about life, but I think that it also actually helps me in my work. The more you know about the world, the more you can relate to different characters and the situations they are in. Having a general understanding of life and society is so important when you’re trying to depict life in a truthful way.

What do you plan on doing with your major?

I want to work in the film industry, whether that’s behind the camera or in front of it. I am currently a Sociology major, but I plan to double major in Communications and minor in Film. I think that all of these subjects relate to film and are important if you want to work in the industry because social constructions and the way that humans interact are inherent when making films.
