You may recognize Jordi Whitworth from the popular British band Overload. They were a fan favorite and finalists on the UK talent competition X-Factor in 2014. Since his X-Factor days, Jordi has gone off to become a solo artist and is looking forward to releasing his debut single Mambo to his fans.

Raised in Canvey Island, Essex, United Kingdom, Jordi has also pursued a career in acting and has appeared on Holby City, East Enders, and Law and Order.

How was your experience on X Factor? The experience being on the X Factor was surprising because it was such an emotional rollacoaster but also such an eye opener to see how it all works behind the scenes.

Why did you leave Overload? I left the band after the X Factor due to unfortunately finding out that two of the boys in my band were already planning to leave after making another band behind my back.

Would you ever join another boyband? I feel like i have done the boyband stage in my life and I now want to pursue a solo career and give it everything I have… But hey! Never say never!

What is your advice to a fan who is nervous about going on a show like X Factor? I have always said do not worry about just your voice because as you see from the show they pick people who they think have the all around “package." Work on everything else in addition to your voice.

When can we expect a debut single? My debut single Mambo will be released late summer with an exciting music video that I’m traveling abroad for!

What is your music going to sound like? Being in the band for 2-3 years, we were all about the pop music. Now being solo, I still have that hint of pop but also have a good mix of R&B. I think people are going to be shocked to see what I have to offer for the industry.

Are you planning to release an EP this year? The EP will be going on sale after my first headlining show which is on the 6th of November at the O2 Islington.

Who is your dream person to collaborate with? I’d probably say Ariana Grande or The Weeknd.

Would you like to get into acting and are there any new projects coming out that you are in? What about modelling? At the moment I actually am working on a few projects that involve acting. I kind of wanna go for the "Justin Timberlake career path" as i like to call it.

What advice would you give to a fan who wants to get into entertainment? I always give the advice that you are not too old or too young to start your dream so if you feel it — do it — and put your whole heart and soul into it!
