Police Tango 1 Police Drag Racing
Program in the early 1990s, ran
under that banner until 2003.

Beat the Heat (WA) Inc’s anti-street
racing program run by off duty
“fun” police is aimed at reducing
the incidents of illegal Street racing
by encouraging participation in the
sport of drag racing in a safe and
controlled environment.
Beat the Heat (WA) Inc program
contests as many as 40
competition events annually, with
the majority of these are held at
the Perth Motorplex, where offstreet drag racing events run each
and every Wednesday nights.
The Beat the Heat (WA) Inc team
also conduct static displays
promoting the road safety
message and the sport of drag
racing at school fetes, trade shows
and motoring events across the
state of Western Australia.

road safety initiatives of this kind
