Planting, watching things grow and harvesting is a very fulfi lling process.” Written By Robin Shepherd 82 GILROY • MORGAN HILL • SAN MARTIN E ven though he’s an islander now, Scott Burr credits his family’s agricultural heritage and his upbringing in Gilroy for his love of farming and his latest venture, Carta Coffee. Scott was raised in Gilroy by his parents, Jim and Jean Burr. Jean’s grandfather came to Gilroy in 1906 and established the Conrotto Winery on Hecker Pass Road in 1926.
