He married a lovely young woman, Lauren Quig from Indiana. The weather was brisk and chilly, a sharp contrast to the warm, humid weather of Belize. It was a tough adjustment to home and work but it's always nice to be home. There are so many interesting, touching and, some thought- provoking articles in this issue of the magazine. I love the touching story about Siena and how a school friend of her mother's, Lisa Furtado, heard about Siena's illness and found a very special way to help (pages 13-14). The holidays are just around the corner and with them come opportunities for us to give thanks for all the things that make our lives enjoyable. Being fortunate enough to live in the South Santa Clara Valley, our list of things to be thankful for is long , although not all inclusive (pages 18-19). We hope you will find our final contribution about the home- less in our area both interesting and thought-provoking (page 32) as well as our story about domestic violence (page 84) and our tribute to our veterans (page 69-77). Once again, it is our pleasure to highlight some interesting people, businesses and non-profits. You'll find them throughout this issue. njoy!! E On a Personal Note: Gabe and his new wife, Lauren Quig picked the picturesque setting of Wind Mountain in Stevenson, Washington for their wedding venue. Family and friends were on hand to wish the newlyweds a healthy and happy life together. Photo by Crystal Genes Photography GILROY • MORGAN HILL • SAN MARTIN OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 2018 gmhtoday.com 5
