The Chamber’s roots date back to 1958 but it was incorporated in the early 1960s. Today, its more than 530 members are served by a three-person staff of community-minded folks under the leadership of President and CEO John Horner. 26 Horner’s background makes him well-suited for his role. He earned an engineering degree and forged a high tech career before moving to Morgan Hill and venturing into retail as the owner of Thinker Toys. He’s passionate about edu- cation and job creation, and he’s known around town as a good-natured guy. According to Horner, “When I came on board in 2013, the City of Morgan GILROY • MORGAN HILL • SAN MARTIN APRIL/MAY 2018 Hill was providing us with funds to serve as a tourism and visitor’s service.
