GILROY LEADERSHIP 8TH ANNUAL DUCKIE DERBY On September 24th, Leadership Gilroy hosted its 8th annual Duckie Derby paddle boat races. Guests enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at Gilroy Gardens. Many laughs were had while cheering on favorite teams and placing raffl e ticket bets on who would win the races. Raffl e prizes included local wine, restaurant gift certifi cates and movie tickets. Congratulations to Barb Granter and Bart Canada who represented the Chamber of Commerce and became the 2017 Duckie Derby Champions! Other boat sponsors who participated in the races included the Gilroy Welcome Center, Gilroy Fire Depart- ment, Gilroy Sunrise Rotary, St. Joseph’s Family Center, Sakata Seed America, Leadership Gilroy Class of 2017, Susan Valenta, Elder & Company, Kneaded Bakery, James Sunor and Old City Hall Restaurant.
