F gmh irst of all I want to welcome Sunday Minnich to our TODAY team. Sunday brings a wealth of knowledge about Morgan Hill and advertising with her as she assumes the role of Executive Advertising Director. We are excited to have someone of her expertise join us. Sunday has been a Morgan Hill resident since 1966. She attended local schools and graduated from Live Oak High School. She has over 25 years experience in Event and Meeting Planning and Sales & Marketing. She is an independent con- tractor for the Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras Festival and was an Advertising Executive for Out & About Magazine for eleven years. Sunday is married to her high school sweet- heart and has one son. They live on a ranch in Prunedale with 2 horses and 3 dogs. I also want to welcome Amy McElroy to our team. Amy is a Contributing Writer and Editor at RewireMe.  She’s been published at The Bold Italic, Cosmopolitan,  The Billfold, Noodle, Club Mid, RoleReboot, BlogHer, elephant journal, and others. I’m so excited about the Lumination event at Gilroy Gardens. Isn’t it some- thing? What an amazing opportunity to experience a little of China right here in our own backyard. Be sure to plan to attend; it’s going to be pretty spectacular. Our main story, written by our Assistant Editor and Senior Writer, Robin Shepherd, is “A Place to Call Home,” which addresses the issue of homelessness in South Santa Clara County. Although a tough topic to address, we felt that it was one that many people are curious about. I think you will find this article informative and enlightening. We apologize if we missed any detail as the topic is quite extensive and many people and community entities are addressing it. Also in these pages, we have a great article about our local ag businesses, a welcome to our newest industry UNFI, and a farewell tribute to Dennis Kennedy. Enjoy! On a personal note: Our new and fifth grand baby, Ava EuLe Lee was born in February. She lives in Littleton, Colorado with her big brother, Maddox Hunter Lee and her mommy Kristine and daddy, Oliver. Naturally, I wish they were closer but enjoy my visits. Colorado is a beautiful state; a little cold for me but a nice place to raise a family. In addition to welcoming Ava and saying goodbye to Larry’s father, the past few months have brought a few other changes. My daughter, Stephanie Vegh, who lives here in Gilroy, has a new job and is now the National Group Fitness Director, Plus One for LinkedIn. Her daughter Lexi just graduated from preschool. And Larry’s son Peter is the Director of Sales for Zagster in San Francisco. He recently became engaged to Colby McKenney, Neurology ICU Nurse at UCSF Medical Center. They plan to be married in September of 2017.
