This year the Morgan Hill Historical
Society included square dancing at its
Community Picnic at Villa Mira Monte,
with Mavis McGaugh calling the dances.
The Morgan Hillbillies, Mike Withrow
and Chuck Musich provided some good
ole country music. Grinds Vines and
Automobilia (GVA) set up a tent where
folks could order up some great BBQ.
Beverages and ice cream were provided by
The Candy Parlour.

Planned to coincide with the Downtown
Association Staycation, the day highlighted
summer activities for kids, with an antique
fire engine photo-op and fire hats for all
(Jim Xavier), vintage games and activities
like using a mortar and pestle to grind corn
as the Native Americans did to make a meal
from corn and acorns. Docent led tours
of the Hiram Morgan Hill House and the
Museum provided a history lesson for the
day.”
