avid Ferry Photography was started in 2006. The owner David
Ferry is from Santa Rosa, and first moved to the Gilroy area in
2003. David, like many camera enthusiasts spent his spare time
before 2003 taking scenic pictures of trees, mountains, the ocean, and
animals around his job’s hours. David thought this was going to be the
extent of his photography.
An interesting thing happened, as David shared his passion with oth-
ers, they started asking him to photograph their children, family mem-
bers, and events. David turned down several requests to photograph
weddings in the early days before he formed his business stating the
concerns about only having one camera.
David’s concern was “what if” a camera breaks while shooting a wed-
ding, how would that affect the bride, groom, and everyone else con-
nected to the wedding. David started taking portrait jobs though, and
soon realized how much he loved working with people.
David bought a second camera for back up and got into the business
of family photography, including weddings.
Now in 2015, David Ferry Photography specializes in weddings,
families, babies, events, but also corporate/business headshots and
portraits, seniors, pets, and consulting/teaching.
David is a member of the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce, and
Professional Photographers of America.
