basic elements of tap , jazz and ballet . “ My instructors each excel in their dance specialty , and they also have the ability and desire to relate to our students .” Dalke likes to take her dance teams to dance conventions where she says both education and artistry are emphasized . The conventions also provide dancers with opportunities to audition for scholarships , connect with agents , and train with professional choreographers , some of whom are veterans and some are up and coming .
In 2015 , Studio Three Dance ’ s Performance Team earned top awards ; convention , competition and audition scholarships ; summer intensive dance placement and dance team audition awards , among other honors . One of her senior dancers is now entering her second year at the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at New York University where she is majoring in dance .

Gilroy also is home to an up and coming ballroom dancer , Deanna Merabian , aged 8 . Merabian has won a youth division title of U . S . Ballroom Champion for Northern California for the last three years . Deanna ’ s mom Sue says Deanna loves ballroom despite the demands .
She practices , and competes , by partnering with a professional adult dancer . Judging is tough , evaluating not only the most intricate details of the dancer ’ s body position and technique , but sense of timing , presence , and composure . She has advanced to a level that requires her to train in Campbell , working with Steve Vasco , who has worked with Jennifer Lopez . Stay tune , South County might just have a future celebrity in the making .
