The restaurant’s new owners doubled the
floor space, redirected the bar to face the
ocean, and added some indoor/outdoor
dining.
After a stroll along the trail and then up
to the historic downtown we opted to go
to The Beach House for a sunset dinner.
We were immediately taken away by the
spectacular open views of Monterey Bay on
all three sides. The small plate menu was a
perfect fit for our appetites that evening. I
had Oyster Rockefeller Crostini and J.Chris
had Stir Fried Viridis Bok Choy & Shitake
Mushroom Dumplings. Both were excellent.
And the sunset reflections on Seaside and
Monterey were inspiring. After dinner,
we met the General Manager, Jeremy B.
Phillips. His family and partners have
interests in six restaurants in the Monterey
area. We made a note to visit them in
the future.
After dinner we walked the trail and
took in the full moon, a great end to a
beautiful day on Monterey Bay.

sunrise and the promise of another warm
