They spoke with passion and conviction at the rostrum when it was their turn to move and second motions. Many of them were first time delegates and speakers but they took to it like a duck to water, no-one more so than George Lindars-Hammond from Sheffield, when he seconded a motion which condemned the government for reduced funding and closure of many of our libraries, museums, galleries and theatres. The Region’s motions were varied and many, but the common theme was always about improving the lives of GMB members.
