OUT GMB proudly sponsors the Halas Hawkes South FC Under-7s… These young footballers have reason to be cheerful: they have a new kit thanks to the GMB C15 General branch! Elizabeth Corbett, branch secretary; Anne Kelly, branch president; and equalities officer Kevin Baker have generously donated £750 to support the boys as they start their journey as a new football team. The donation was put towards a much-needed new kit, as the boys had been playing in old, worn kits since they formed their team, and they were also without any team jackets. The branch is proud to be able to help a young football team from the grass roots up. A sad goodbye GMB mourns Jim Duggan We are sad to announce that we recently lost our friend and colleague Jim Duggan. Jim was an active member of GMB for over 40 years. He held several positions within GMB including in the Regional Committee, the Regional Council and was also previously a Central Executive Council (CEC) member. He was a much-respected member of our union whose passing was very sudden. He will be sadly missed but will never be forgotten. We extend sympathies to his family and friends. 30 CENTRE POINT – GMB Birmingham and West Midlands GMB25.Centre_Point_30_31.indd 30 20/06/2016 15:21
