BE A U T Y REVIVE DRIED MAKEUP PRODUCTS To avoid drying out of makeup products, be sure to always tighten caps and keep your products stored in a cool, dry place. In case your product has dried out, here are a few simple tips on how you can bring them back to life: REVIVE DRIED GEL LINERS, CREAM SHADOWS AND PRIMER Add a small drop of Ingot Duraline just before you use these products. Personally, I love using this with my Inglot AMC Gel Eyeliner for a crisp and neat line. RENEW MASCARA Use 2-3 drops of Inglot Duraline on the mascara wand, put it back into the tube and swirl it around to add fluidity and to dissolve the clumps. Always avoid ‘pumping’ the wand as it adds air to the container, which causes the mascara to dry out quicker. LIPSTICK Some lipsticks dry out over time and can tug onto your lips. If that happens, exfoliate your lips and then go over them with lip balm before applying lipstick. The trick here is not to add moisture to the product, but directly to your lips to assist the product. SOME COMMON MISTAKES NOT SWITCHING YOUR FOUNDATION When you swap your skin routine for the colder season, same should go for your foundation as well. In winter, your dry skin might be craving coverage that is more hydrating like a tinted moisturiser or liquid foundations. UNDER MOISTURISING No prepping of the skin is the most common mistake which people do not tend to give importance to. If your canvas is not perfect, nothing you do on top would be. Always moisturise! NOT MOISTURISING OILY SKIN It’s a common mistake to think that because you have an oily skin type, you do not have to moisturise. If you have oily skin, you may not be as keen to notice the drying effects of the winter season, however, while your skin may not be dry, it can still be dehydrated. So, if you have an oily skin, you should use an oil- free moisturiser that will restore the skin’s balance by providing hydration while helping control oil. SKIPPING SPF Even small amounts of unprotected sun exposure can cause premature ageing. Invest in a good moisturiser which also has SPF protection, so in case you forget to apply SPF, at least your moisturiser will give some protection. NOT EXFOLIATING Dead, flaky skin can lead to a dull complexion and clogged pores. Exfoliate 2-3 times a week, but make sure you do not overdo it. NOT STAYING HYDRATED It is easy to forget to drink water when you are not sweating. Keep lots of H2O close at hand! LICKING YOUR LIPS AND NOT USING LIP BALM When you lick your lips, it takes away the moisture with it making your lips dry and flaky. To avoid this, keep a lip balm or petroleum jelly around all the time. 49
